Simplicity Is Sometimes The BEST MEDICINE
You read about sickness and illnesses being caused by exposure to cancerous materials, over demanding jobs; prolong hectic lifestyles; and trying to juggle jobs, friends and family. But have you ever heard of people getting ill and falling a part due to the simplicity of their life? Keeping your life simpler doesn’t mean you do nothing.
You just make better choices on behalf of your health. Overindulgence in the ownership of material things is a sickness in of its self. Unless you have a staff (that you can afford to pay) to keep up with your material world’s maintenance, perhaps taxes, and protection and maybe have time to use it, you’re better off just not owning it.
Simplicity also implies how you book your time. Are you over extended with promises to keep, people to care for, and all kinds of extracurricular activities? Our age of technology has us dazzled with mountains of distractions. We act like we are forced to feel everyone must own and buy all kinds of things (that you may not really use) and buy long term package deals to keep the clutter train going.
In holistic medicine we take the disease and look closely at where and when it began and what fuels its existence. Often it is entangled with all kinds of previously stressful situations. When you take a diagnostic look at the symptoms and simplify the problem, then remove all or most of the demands and lighten the material load the person gets better.
Recovery is quicker and many times oral medications are not required to get healed. Clean out your attic, barn, and garage. Sell your second or third home you never use. Only belong to three clubs or organizations instead of seven.
Sell off collections you no longer use or function with. Step down as president of two or three groups. Give someone else a chance. Now feel better in no time at all. Be the best person you can be.
